High school students taught us traditional Dagbani greetings while community members shared local phrases and proverbs. I recorded voices across all ages, facilitating collaborative songwriting and visual art-making integrating daily greetings with intergenerational cultural knowledge about respect and unity.

Students (grades 6-8) used their homes as artistic inspiration, building drawing/painting skills. I taught technical drawing (ie line and shading), then guided students in transforming analog work into digital animations/GIFs, layering their voice recordings.

Students captured park sounds and transformed them into musical compositions using audio samplers. I taught pitch manipulation of environmental recordings, creating beats from nature sounds, and facilitated collaborative songwriting about seasonal environmental change.

I made this video at a beach I used to swim at as a kid, combining footage with my vocals and ambient sound. Using old video gear, I explore getting older and environmental change - waves and rising tides as metaphor for what we're trying to hold onto when everything keeps shifting.

I performed this 30-minute piece wearing all white with projectors on and around me, reimagining the traditional song to explore technology, isolation, and generational change.
